If you incur a penalty during your round, you can record it directly in the Apple Watch app to ensure your score and performance statistics remain accurate.
Recording a Penalty
- Tap the Add Shot button on the main play screen.
- Scroll down through the list of clubs until you reach the Penalty options.
- Tap the appropriate penalty option to record the penalty stroke.
The penalty will then be added to your score for the hole.
Choosing the Correct Penalty Option
You'll see options for recording different types of penalties.
Important: The +1 and +2 penalty options should only be used for Rules of Golf infringements, such as penalties for breaching a rule.
These options should not be used for:
- A lost ball.
- A penalty area drop.
- An unplayable ball.
- Any situation where you're taking another shot following a penalty relief option.
Selecting the correct penalty type is important because it affects how Strokes Gained is calculated. Using the wrong option can result in inaccurate performance statistics.
